Delusions of Grandeur

Shing Tung Yau, Dennis Sullivan, Edward Witten, Isadore Singer, C.N. Yang, John Morgan, James Simons, John Milnor listened in rapt attention (with mouths agape) as Nanga Fakir explained to them the secrets of his recently acquired superpower of dividing by zero.

...

Nah...it was the other way round.

I can safely assume that it must have been the greatest conference attended by you so far (& I can unsafely assume that you did attend all of 'em).

Were those the greatest lectures so far as well?

Pretty much. In particular John Morgan's talk on low dimensional topology/geometry and Simons talk on his ups and downs in research and life in general were awesome.

I sat next to Witten and Yau for 2 full hours and at times they seemed human.
