I hope you lost a bet with him. Or you found yourself at lunch at Stony Brook's game theoretical festival and found that you didn't have your wallet (conveniently) and he was overcome by a deluge of emotions from his grad school days when he starved because he was working too hard.

Actually I have a letter from him in which he planned to sell a spare ticket from Penn Station to The Brook!
